Octaria Pulnassea's notes: 6 - Mylgadilac
A strange and huge purple furry sloth on the outskirts of a mountain village, the locals call it
Mylgadilac
It dwells on a wide cave, which from a distance appears to be covered with pin cushion moss of the same purple color as its fur.
Their claws are long and thick as a child’s arm, they look as polished silver, although whether they are of this material is hard to tell from a distance.
There is not much that can be found out about the creature because approaching it seems impossible and only an inspection from afar is feasible.
The Mylgadilac has caught the attention of the townsfolk for the strange events that surround it and its cave.
If one gets closer than one hundred feet from it, a slumber seizes the body, and if one does not retreat to a safer place, then a deep sleep overtakes the body. In this state the dreams one has are a strange thing, for they seem alien, and from time to time one has the recollection of being part of the dreams of other creatures sleeping around the Mylgadilac.
A group of travelers who fell prey to this enchantment claim to have shared their dreams, and also an old woman sleeping near the cave claims to have experienced the dreams of her horse.
In my research I could only get close to the cave once, when the Mylgadilac was out foraging for food, and even without its presence I have to maintain myself awake using special tonics and potions. On this excursion, I was able to pick up some of the purple cushion moss, which by itself has a similar effect, but milder, than that caused by proximity to the creature.
Alchemical uses:
The purple cushion moss, if kept alive, can help with insomnia if placed near the bed.
But its use in creatures without insomnia can make them to sleep more deeply, and make them harder to awaken.
The purple cushion moss has small specks embedded in it, resembling grains of white sand.
Working with these specks is extremely difficult because at touch they have a stronger somniferous effect than the moss.
If they are press between the naked skin of a awaken creature and a sleeping one, it allows the awaken one to see glimpses of the dreams of the one who sleeps. If this is done for more than a few minutes it can lead to the awakened creature to become lost in the dreams of the sleeper. In this state any injury acquired in the dream becomes real.

Area effects: - Sleep if closer than 100 feet for more than 10 minutes (condition unconscious, WILL/WIS Save every 10 min)
- Share dreams with nearby sleeping creatures.
